Brand creation: Three Wishes

The need:The Tabletop Group (TTG) needed to develop some differentiated offers in a ceramics sector that was under serious price pressure from high quality manufacturers in Asia. TTG had identified gifting as a growth sector in which it could innovate.

Our work: We worked with TTG to identify how to position a new offer in the gifting market and we created a name and designed an identity for that. This work involved researching the market through retail audits and interviews with a range of retail buyers. We then created the name and designed the ribbon-butterfly logo and visual style.

The result: We developed the giftware offer to stand out as a destination for gift purchasers. The Three Wishes brand was positioned to have mass market appeal for men and women of all ages and to guide people to a safe choice. The brand was inspired by mass market ‘light entertainment’ values associated with TV programmes like Strictly Come Dancing and Richard and Judy. We developed the brand idea of ‘Human warmth’ and three personality coordinates around that: Touch, Bubbly and Sense of Smile. This brand would help you buy a gift that anyone would like and thereby take the stress out of choosing.

The brand was launched on the market in 2007 and has since been acquired by Rayware.
