Brand identity: SignHealth
The need:Sign was a charity focused on providing services for Deaf people with mental health problems, offering residential, advocacy and outreach services. In 2007 the decision was taken to widen the scope of the charity to encompass all Deaf people. The drive behind this change was the fact that health outcomes for Deaf people are up to 10x worse than those of hearing people, in large part due to poor communication of by the health care community.
This shift to become ‘The healthcare charity for Deaf people’ required a new name and identity to enable the charity to step up a gear, specifically to connect with potential clients, engage partner organisations, work with health service providers and to champion access to health for Deaf people.
Our work:The first task was to develop the positioning and personality of the brand and to create a powerful and campaignable brand idea. Using the idea we designed a powerful new identity, including full applications.
The result: The brand idea ‘Energizing change’ with its new identity was launched in the House of Commons in March 2008 and has become the focus for the growth of the charity.
